On June 15, 2021, The Bureau of Indian Standards incorporated Ortho-phosphoric acid into Compulsory RegistrationScheme II as outlined in Schedule 2 of BIS Certification, conforming to Indian Standards IS 798:2020.

Ortho Phosphoric Acid, like many other chemical products, requires BIS registration before it can be legally imported and sold in India. It is mandatory for all variants and brands of Ortho-Phosphoric Acid to obtain BIS Registration.

In 2012, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) introduced the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS).
