Manufacturer: BIS certification is issued only to the device manufacturer. Importers, traders, or retailers cannot apply for the BIS registration certificate. However, they can act as an Indian Authorized Representative (AIR) for a manufacturer if the manufacturer doesn't have a managing office in India. Nevertheless, the BIS license is issued only in the manufacturer's name.

Manufacturing Address: The application and supporting documents should specify a valid manufacturing unit. If a manufacturer has multiple manufacturing units for a product, a separate BIS CRS license is required for each unit.

Trademark/Brand: If a manufacturer produces the same product for multiple brands, they must apply for separate BIS licenses for each brand. For instance, if a manufacturer produces electronic video games for brands A and B, they must apply for a BIS CRS certificate for each product.

1.      Completely filled CDF/CCL form.

6.      Marking Label/Details of Marking on the Product.

7.      Authorization letter (If the signatory person is other than the head of manufacturing).

8.      Trademark Certificate.

9.      Trademark Authorization Letter (If the trademark is owned by other than the manufacturer).

10.  Authorized Indian Representative Company registration proof in INDIA (in the case of the foreign manufacturer).

11.  Photo ID of Authorized Indian Representative/Authorized Signatory.

12.  Technical Specification Sheet of the product/user manual.

Procedure to Obtain BIS Certification for Electronic Video Games
