BIS/CRS registration
BIS (Bureau of Industry and Security) and CRS (Consolidated Screening List) registration are two separate processes related to export control regulations in the United States.
BIS registration is required for companies that export certain goods or technologies that are controlled by the U.S. government. BIS maintains the Commerce Control List (CCL), which profile these controlled items, and companies must register with BIS if they plan to export any items listed on the CCL. The registration process involves submitting an application and providing information about the company's business activities, ownership structure, and export history.
CRS is a list that consolidates multiple US government screening lists into a single list of individuals and entities that are subject to various export and financial sanctions. The CRS is maintained by the US government and is used by businesses and organizations to screen potential business partners, customers, and other parties to ensure compliance with US export control regulations.
